Honda Brand Platform
'Designed for Joy' is the new platform for Honda Australia. The idea is that everything Honda does is designed to create joy, whether that be driving home for the first time, interacting with a product page or resonating with an ad.
A new platform was needed to bring it to life. And with just eight-short-weeks we worked rapidly to define a new look-and-feel for one of the biggest automotive companies in Australia. With a strong focus on typography, bold product photography, animation and a confident, quirky tone of voice, we pushed the Honda brand into a progressive forward-thinking digital world.
A ‘less-is-more’ approach was also taken to the website and OOH - with copy and imagery used to highlight only the most interesting details about the car. Plus, plenty of white space to give everything a more premium feel.
During this project, I worked with a team of designers to build out Honda’s new design platform. Behind the minimal design system there is one key layout principle: symmetry. From the assets to the typography everything is balanced and centered – ideal for dynamic animation.
Throughout this project I designed web pages, web components, dynamic digital banners, interactive experiences, social content and more. One of my main contributions was redesigning and creating guidelines for their suite of eDMs, creating a template system to ensure each communication was aligned to our new Honda branding.
